The Legs of the road was a project undertaken with Springburn Academy higher art pupils and wider springburn community to engage with the cowlairs underpass, a neglected underpass which Passes under the A803. This is a pedestrian link which connects parts of springburn affected by the dual carriageway which dissected the area. Mandy mcintosh collaborated with associate artist douglas laing on this project.We used sculpture and drawing to create elements in concrete, bronze and digital print. we later worked with a graffiti artist boss city taio to create a bespoke panel for the underpass. these were subtle interventions in an ongoing process which is generative in its purpose. the project is open ended and subject to change.it was funded by the national lottery community fund.
